Why did you decide to take part in the 50% Local Food Club?
Like most folks I am intrigued about the local food concept. We are even trying to be more involved in local food at the municipal level.
What food/meal are you most looking forward to during the month of September?
When I think of the Fall in Nova Scotia I think of valley corn, but there is so much good local produce available. I also enjoy a bit of Nova Scotia wine…..love all the great entrepreneurs in the local wine biz….Carl and Donna Sparkes, Pete Luckett, Gerry McConnell, the Ramey’s, Stu Creaser and others.
What do you expect to be most challenging about eating a 50% local diet?
In working out a plan with my wife we thought local meat might be the most difficult to get on a regular basis. But there are suppliers locally, and at the markets. We have had chicken and fish already.
